What We Think

Fun factor:

Ease of assembly:
Educational factor:
Novelty factor:

The Good: The oven features smart safety precautions to help prevent misuse or possible burns.

The Challenging: Adult supervision is required.

In a Nutshell: An oven for cooking edible jewelry that your child can wear and eat.

Add your favorite candy sprinkle/pellet combination into the mold.

Use the oven tool to insert the mold into the oven.

And in 45 minutes you'll have delicious hard-candy jewelry!

Make it, Wear it, Eat it
The Candy Jewel Factory Oven includes packets of colored candy sprinkles, pellets, and string, along with a plastic locket and ring cover. The options for kinds of jewelry your child can make are numerous -- whether it's a necklace, bracelet, ring, or even a headband!

To make the jewelry, simply add your favorite candy sprinkle/pellet combination into the mold of your choice, and use the oven tool to insert the mold into the oven. Once your hard candy is formed, the oven will finish baking and go into its cooling process before allowing the oven door to open. The entire process takes up to 45 minutes at the most.

Please note: The oven only uses a 40-Watt 120V Small Base Candelabra Blunt Tip Light Bulb, which is not included.

Smart Safety Features and Cool Jewelry
To avoid any burns or misuse, the oven will reopen only after it has finished its entire cooling process -- an excellent safety precaution. Also, if the oven's button is turned to "on," even while unplugged, the oven door will not open. Though adult supervision is always required, the extra safety features will help make parents comfortable with their child using it.

Your child will enjoy making their own edible hard candy jewelry. The oven allows your child to show off their creativity, wear their cool and "sweet" designs for the world to see, and then eat them as a special snack. And with all the included candy packets along with the ring and locket accessories, the options for imaginative play are endless.

What's in the Box
Oven, candy molds, plastic ring base, plastic ring cover, plastic heart-shaped locket, two packets of candy pellets, packet of star sprinkles, packet of rainbow sprinkles, packet of pearl sprinkles, packet of candy string, and instructions.

We got this Candy Jewel Factory from one grandma for Christmas and the Girl Gourmet Cupcake decorator from another one. The cupcake one was not good. Cupcakes did not taste good. Frosting did not decorate, ran all over the place and was over in a second. Each packet of cupcake mix and frosting makes one cupcake and that is all. The jewelry maker has been hours and hours of fun today and the candy tastes great, too. You put the sprinkles in the molds, put the molds in the little oven, it completely melts, can't open the door until it cools, and my 7 year old has been making necklaces, rings, everything. Even would buy the refills. The Easybake oven we got last year have been in the closet, food wasn't good, mess to clean up. This is fantastic. Candy cooks in 11 to 13 mins, it has to cool for 20 mins before door opens, then easily pops out of the mold. Plus there is another mold tray to be decorating while the other one is cooking.
Awesome candy

As my 11-year old daughter says, "This is awesome the candy is very yummy. But it takes half hour to make the little candy. It also locks the little oven so you do not burn your self! Over all it is a very good toy and it was very fun to make with the sprinkles!"
Awesome toy for a 5 yr old

I purchased this toy for my 5 year old daughter. After reading some of the reviews I thought twice about purchasing it but I'm so glad I did. She completely loves it! After we made the first batch together she is able to do it by herself. The toy is very safe and so much fun for her. It only takes about 10 minutes to melt the candy in the oven and when it is done the over shuts itself off. Then the door stays locked until the candy is completley cool so there is no chance of burning yourself (this takes 20-30 minutes). Overall I feel this toy is very safe and very fun for my 5 year old.
A ton of fun, you just need to get the 40 W bulb first.

Everyone complaining on here apparently did not also get the Girl Gourmet cupcake maker, that was a huge disappointment for us. Not only did it taste bad, but frosting ran everywhere. We were thrilled that this thing actually worked and luckily I had a light bulb. Candy "cooked," tastes very good. 7 year old played all day making batches of candy. If you don't put the candy past the "fill to" line, it should melt. Also, we had the narrower 40W bulb. Maybe that makes a difference. I just wanted to throw out a positive review because we really do like it.
